1+1 = Ett Atlas

Could it actually be that 1 + 1 doesn’t always equal 2, but sometimes equals 1?

I’m no mathematician. Maybe more of a metaphorician (?).

Because if you add one pile of clothes to another pile of clothes, you still end up with... one pile of clothes. And when two raindrops running down your car window suddenly meet — they go plop & become one drop. Furthermore, an egg cell carrying an X chromosome joins with a sperm cell carrying an X chromosome, and about nine months later plop — a daughter!

Do you see what I’m trying to get at?

Even more specifically:

An atlas, a worldview, a life — when each merges with its counterpart — it becomes something grander. A bigger, better atlas.
